Final Assemble

In the picture above you can see two pilot holes that I drilled to mount the trunk prop rod.  The fiberglass was so thin here I can't trust it to hold the bolt.

So I cut a piece of 1/8 x 3/4 inch flat steel for reinforcing.

Using fiberglass tape I attached the steel plate to the lid.

Using Bondo I then blended the fiberglass to the trunk lid.

I then sprayed a little white primer over the area.  Next I drilled and tapped 1/4 x 20 mounting holes.

As in the above picture I used the Prop Support that SB provided, but I did not like it. So I changed to the following.

I used two 43lb Strong Arm Gas Supports. Model #4477. More information about these supports can be found in the "Hood Support" section.

For the left side I made a bracket from 1/8 x 1 inch flat steel. I also used a ball stud #H93607A-4.

For the right side I used a bracket #H00165B that was purchased from www.liftsupportsdepot.com
